This wedding picture is from the 1949 marriage of Edith Glattstein and Leo Schwartz (2nd cousins married each other). L-R: Maurice Blaugrund, Sigmund Blaugrund, Sam Schwartz, Larry Gladstone, Edith Glattstein Schwartz, Leo Schwartz, Meyer Schwartz, Adele Engel Blaugrund and Herman Blaugrund.
Edith and Larry’s mother, Chana Blaugrund Glattstein, died in Munkacs, Czechoslavakia (now Ukraine) before WWII. Larry and Edith survived the Holocaust; their father and younger sister did not. Herman and Adele Blaugrund were childless. They took their niece, Edith, into their home when she arrived in El Paso from Sweden (where she convalesced after liberation) in 1948 and threw her wedding celebration.
